Rising to the challenges of today.
The class of 2021 have demonstrated that with determination you can be true to your goals in spite of obstacles and unexpected circumstances. Their teachers dedicated Psalm 121:1-2 to them: “I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” It is an ongoing reminder that they have an Almighty God to rely on no matter what circumstances they face. And the mountains, which are so clearly seen in Calgary, are a metaphor for many of the life lessons they have learned, especially during the past 18 months.
“Mountains remind us that the world is not entirely man-made, controlled, and predictable. They call to our attention that we need to be durable and prepared without rigidity and inflexibility.” – C. Mariotti
The graduates have also demonstrated joy and a desire to build solid, inclusive relationships. Academically they proved that iron sharpens iron as they supported and urged one another on. They consistently earned honours and many earned that next level of honours with distinction. But more importantly, when they reflected on what they learned in their years at Master’s, we heard maturity and wisdom.
Despite a time of uncertainty, the graduates remained true to their commitments; they showed up and they stepped up, and now they are stepping out. They have shown that they have the mindset of Imaginal Leaders--those who pursue their personal vision without limitation. We wish them all the best as they continue to design their futures!
Congratulations to the class of 2021!
